Think twice about the leafs

Thinking about fall (the season) brings back the memories of dead and fallen leafs. Think twice… Those fallen leafs mean life, color and beauty.

This picture was taken in Huehuetenango on my way to Yolnabaj, the “Laguna Brava”.

Guatemala doesn’t have a “fall” properly talking (season) and most of the trees kept their green color all over the year. But some, as the Roble and Liquidambar might give this look of fallen leafs to the ground.

This leafs form a cover on the ground that prevents the water and moisture to evaporate during the dry season (if any). So, if you can, try not to take them away as you will be damaging the environment. They feed some little life forms too.

And tell me if this doesn’t look as something you would want to see in your garden…
