River and waterfall at Magdalena
Published February 4th, 2007 in Places and moments.
This is a nice, fresh (but really cold) river that feeds the Maddalena’s Lagoon at Huehuetenango.
How do I get there?
There are no tours, no hotels and no restaurants over there, so if you wanna go it will be on your car, bicycle or walking…
From Guatemal City, the Interamericana Road will take you to Huehuetenango. From there take the road to Chiantla. Follow the ascent to Todos Santos and just ending the ascent, passing the “Look at, Olaverry”, you will see the sign that says “Madgalena 18km”.
Drive or bike for 18 kilometers and you will be right from where this picture was taken. It is a nice mountain bike ride.
Cold on winter, but nice and clear sky. Beautiful place.
