Pacaya volcano ascent… again

pacaya volcano

Another weekend at Pacaya Volcano. Beautiful, nice weather, clear sky. This is the view you can get while you hike.

The only money you spend on the trip is the ticket to get it and the gas when you drive. Other than this is free and you can see this in the morning… Agua Volcano and Acatenango y Fuego at the distance.

Kinda funny that on Sundays in the morning the volcano has this small cloud that seems like an ufo sometimes… This time wasn’t a perfect shape but still captures the attention.

After too many ascents that year I said “enough”, there are other places to train!

How to get there

Pacaya Volcano is located at the south of Guatemala, at 1 hour driving and you can enjoy a nice forest on the hike up. Sometimes is not allowed to reach the summit as the volcano is still active. Other times you can see the crater just there… and touch it (really hot).

Follow the road to Escuintla and you’ll find the signs on the road. Hire a guide from Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala. There are plenty of travel agencies that will take you there.

If you are lucky you can see lava flows in some seasons.

Gracias! ese es un comentario muy alentador. Sí son fotos de mis viajes y de lugares que he visitado por mi país Guatemala, y decidí compartirlas aquí con historias cortas. Saludos!
