Iximiché, the Maya city near Tecpán
Published January 5th, 2010 in Places and moments.I’ve been many times at this maya archaeological site and I just can’t leave behind the memories of my first visit.
I was a little kid on my first visit and still remember the fresh air, the hills and the pictures I took with my very first camera (film). Is not so close to Guatemala City but not to far. We went with a group when I was at school. Now my interests in maya history are bigger than ever before, and after visiting many maya sites across 5 countries I must confess every picture of the place brings me back to those playful memories.

I can’t remember the year, but we went on a group with little girls too and I was more concerned on chasing one and showing my skills with the camera than knowing the place. Yes it was peaceful, and still it is. The maya site is very well preserved and now you can find more information about the past of the place.
I guess there are places that will forever keep you traveling back to your childhood no matter what.
